Stamford Health is hiring a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT POP) RN for the Tully Health Center location! This is a full-time 37.5-hour day shift position Monday through Friday position! No Weekends or Holidays! Conducts remote telephone and inpatient assessments at POP visit to ensure patient readiness prior to their date of surgery. Collaborates with Hospitalists, Nurse Practitioner Anesthesia, Surgeon’s office, primary care physicians, other physician consultants and ancillary services. The RN will complete a patient intake either over the phone and/or at POP visits. The RN will service patients having surgery at both the Tully Center and Main campus The RN will verify and review with the patient their medical / surgical history, including medication reconciliation, MDRO risk and other screenings as indicated to ensure patient readiness prior to surgery. The RN Verifies patient information by using established patient identifiers. The RN confirms surgery/ procedure, date and location of procedure. The RN reports any identified clinical issues to the Surgeons office and scheduling department as indicated. The RN will provide pre-operative instruction to all patients to include medication instructions, NPO status, bathing requirements, date and location of surgery. POP Patients: The RN shall work in tandem with Physicians, NP’s and Patient Care Tech’s (PCT) in preparation and completion of physical exam during visit, including obtaining vital signs, height, weight and specimens/testing ordered by the Physician/NP. Provides relevant documentation in a timely manner to the PAT/POP Coordinator to help ensure the patient’s surgical chart in the EHR is complete prior to surgery.
