About The Position

A working lead responsible for real-time oversight of Pre-Access workflows including insurance verification, benefits review, authorization checkpoints, and pre-service documentation. Manages live work queues, supports complex scheduling cases, provides first-line coaching, and reinforces scheduling workflow consistency. Participates in the department’s on-call rotation to support after-hours needs and ensure operational continuity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • 2+ years of Patient Access, insurance verification, or pre-service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors verification queues and worklists.
  • Assigns cases and redistributes workload.
  • Completes complex scheduling, , COB reviews, and medical necessity checks.
  • Provides immediate assistance on insurance questions or unclear payer responses.
  • Participates in the standard Patient Access on-call rotation.
  • Responds to urgent verification issues, payer outages, or escalations occurring after hours.
  • Communicates issues or follow-up needs to leadership.
  • Communicates workflow issues, payer updates, and daily priorities.
  • Maintains updated internal guides and payer notes.
  • Supports departmental goals for accuracy and authorization readiness.
