The department currently supports 10 faculty with diverse research and practice backgrounds, including the Blue Cross of NC distinguished endowed professor of Public Health. The department supports approximately 140 undergraduate and 37 graduate students. It also enjoys numerous strong, long-term relationships with regional health providers and public health agencies. Appalachian State University's Beaver College of Health Sciences (BCHS) is transforming the health and quality of lives of individuals, families, and communities through inclusive practices, interprofessional collaboration, and innovation in teaching, scholarship, service, and clinical outreach. The BCHS supports over 3,400 students in nine undergraduate and nine graduate degree programs, organized into six academic departments. The Practitioner in Residence / Medical Director will provide clinical leadership, strategic oversight, supervision of allied health professionals, and operational guidance for the Growing Well Developmental Clinic. This role will ensure the highest standards of care in developmental pediatrics, drive evidence-based practices, and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes for high-risk infants and young children.
