Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a master's psychology program
  • Must be available to commit 2 full 8 hr days on site for clinical work
  • Must be available to participate in weekly group and individual supervision
  • Previous mental health experience highly preferred
  • Must be able to complete CPI training upon hire.
  • Must be with an approved school contracted with Fermont Hospital

Responsibilities

  • Will learn to complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, treatment plans, suicide assessments, and other evidence-based assessments to support patients with treatment and discharge planning.
  • Will learn to create and implement Master Treatment Plan and Treatment Plan update for all patients within hospital policies and timeframes. Will learn to communicate the treatment plan with patients, patient's family/guardians, and outside agencies if involved.
  • Will learn how to thoroughly and timely document of all communication with patients, families, and involved stakeholders, discharge planning updates, treatment planning updates, and any other clinical encounters.
  • Must have the ability to multitask, work in a faced paced environment, adapt to change, while meeting necessary deadlines as outlined in hospital's policies and procedures.
  • Will learn to provide psychoeducation and support to patients, families, involved agencies, as needed.
  • Will learn and be responsible to facilitate process and skills-based groups on the milieu.
  • Will learn and provide individual support to patients in crisis.
  • Will learn and facilitate family meetings to support safe and effective discharges.
