About The Position

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is looking for a Practice Support Coordinator to join our growing Downtown Clinic . The Practice Support Coordinator (PSC) answers phones on a multi-line high volume system in a pleasant and professional manner. The PSC acts as the primary support for incoming calls and transfers to the appropriate department/team as necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides NWOS patients, vendors, and customers with excellent customer service by answering and routing all incoming phone calls not automatically routed through the NWOS phone tree Accurately transfers calls to the appropriate employee, team, or department after following the flow chart for directions on incoming calls and determining their ability to filter the call. Responsible for reviewing unsorted EMR records to correct charts or work-queues Provides clinic and appointment information to both internal and external callers. Schedules as appropriate according to the task list. Provides referral status to appropriate personnel. Manage assigned work-queues. Create patient communications as outlined in task list. Maintains the strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Keeps supervisor informed of problems or issues.1 Communicates in a positive and professional manner. All other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of medical terminology, Microsoft Office, office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, scanners, & Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Excellent telephone etiquette skills. Interpersonal/human relations skills; provides professional, positive customer service to all patients and works well with other staff. Organizational and critical thinking skills. Ability to multitask. Ability to maintain records and files. QUALIFICATIONS: Education Required: High School degree or equivalent. Preferred: Medical office specialist course. Experience Preferred: 1 year of experience in a medical office. WAGE RANGE: $17.13- $28.56 Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment which involves frequent telephone contact with providers and patients. Interaction with staff and others is constant and interrupted. Work may require long periods of sitting, also stooping, bending and stretching. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a telephone, copier, fax, printers and other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to view and type on computer screens. Hearing must be correctable to audible standards in order to appropriately listen and route call correctly. Requires lifting up to 25 pounds. NWOS offers a robust benefits package to our employees and their families. Requirements
