About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service focused, Practice Support Coordinator to join our Pre-Surgical Team! We need someone with a professional demeanor, can work well under stress/stress situations, will provide great customer service to our patients, and is able to multitask! Under the direction of the assigned leader, the Practice Support Coordinator is responsible for assuring that all clerical duties are accurately performed in completion of, but not limited to, the following areas: communicating with referring clinic offices; ensure that copies of appropriate documentation are obtained to facilitate treatment or patient care; manage flow of patient medical records; ensure that all information entered into the automated admitting/registration system is accurate and complete; schedule patients for office visits; assisting with registration and pre-registration functions; field incoming calls; projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of patients, coworkers and the Northwest Specialty Hospital as appropriate. This position will also work closely with other departments as needed, to ensure the patient’s chart and information is complete to receive treatment. Works under stress and in situations that demand patience and tact while providing impeccable service.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own growth and advancements.
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in utilizing word processing, integrated database and other functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize and understand mathematical calculations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Two years medical office experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Updates patient accounts and information
  • Schedules patients as needed
  • Registers patients as needed
  • Verify patient coverage for primary, secondary and tertiary
  • Collect patient payments and setup payment plans
  • Communicate with patients, other medical offices, and insurances companies
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork and records are ready for patient appointments
  • Collaborate with nursing team regarding scheduling of patients
  • Collaborate with medical records team as needed
  • Keeps information confidential and a HIPAA secure environment
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to other clerical staff
