About The Position

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Practice Support Assistant for our Public Finance Group. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices and consideration given for 100% remote US locations. What Will I do: The Practice Group Support Assistant’s primary responsibility will be reviewing and categorizing incoming emails, identifying urgent messages and flagging action items for follow-up. Their goal is to help public finance lawyers reduce email overwhelm, ensure important messages are prioritized and improve response times. The role will also involve scheduling meetings based on information received via email. The Practice Group Support Assistant will work closely with lawyers, staff and clients, requiring adaptability and strong prioritization to support the dynamic needs of a high-volume law practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Experience in managing high-volume email communications
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and the applications they integrate with
  • Proven ability to be flexible to changing workloads and schedules
  • Willingness to learn and use AI in connection with the performance of appropriate task

Responsibilities

  • Manage, organize, and optimize email inboxes for efficiency and productivity
  • Assist lawyers with inbox decluttering, set up email rules or automations, and maintain organized digital filing systems for easy access to important correspondence
  • Ensure timely, accurate correspondence to help maintain the efficiency and reputation of the firm
  • Extensive calendar and schedule management
  • Assistance with marketing and business development initiatives
  • Generate drafts of correspondence, forms and contracts
  • General secretarial and administrative tasks
  • Assist partners with personal tasks and communications as needed
