About The Position

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of intelligent infrastructure and sustainable buildings by driving large & complex deals and forging strong partnerships with general contractors on some of the most ambitious construction projects in the industry? At Black Box, our mission is to create smarter, more efficient, and innovative building solutions. Our Intelligent Infrastructure Solution Seller – GC & Construction will focus on driving sales of large structured cabling and low-voltage solutions to general contractors involved in large-scale construction projects. This role requires a highly motivated and skilled individual capable of identifying opportunities, building strong relationships, and closing high-value deals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of sales experience selling large deals in structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems.
  • Proven success in selling to general contractors managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to close high-value ($2M+) deals and consistently achieve sales targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of structured cabling and low-voltage solutions, including industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, NEC).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., SalesForce) and other sales management platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with general contractors managing large construction projects requiring low-voltage solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate the structured cabling market with/through General Contractors & consultants.
  • Conduct market research to uncover potential leads and stay informed on industry trends.
  • Generate new business through networking, cold calling, referrals, and participation in trade shows.
  • Oversee the complete sales cycle, from prospecting to contract closure.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored sales presentations and proposals that address client needs.
  • Negotiate contract terms to secure profitable and sustainable agreements.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities in SalesForce.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with general contractors, ensuring trust and loyalty.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client support, addressing questions and concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of low-voltage and structured cabling products, standards, and solutions.
  • Provide technical insights and guidance on the design and implementation of low-voltage systems.
  • Stay current with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and competitive solutions.
