The Practice Manager at Apex Eye is a leadership role focused on overseeing the daily operations of the ophthalmology practice. This position is responsible for ensuring a patient-centered approach while managing staff, optimizing workflows, and enhancing the overall efficiency and profitability of the office. The Practice Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to foster a positive work environment and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

  • Execute day-to-day operations of the office including employee scheduling and report generation.
  • Provide guidance on optical equipment usage, medical chart handling, insurance, and billing.
  • Compile operational reports to gain insights into business performance.
  • Lead the office by providing support and coaching to staff.
  • Enhance processes and workflows to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with District/Regional Managers and HR on employee relations and recruitment needs.
  • Engage in constructive conversations with employees to address improvement areas.
  • Train employees on providing a world-class patient experience.
  • Act as the liaison between employees and management.
  • Motivate employees by communicating changes in a supportive manner.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Medical office management experience is required.
  • Experience with opening a new medical office/practice from the ground up is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in the ophthalmology field is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or a related area of study preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in medical services marketing and strategic planning preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in practice development and expansion preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining professional relationships with referral sources, payers, and other groups preferred.
  • Demonstrable skills in leadership, management, interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and problem solving.
