About The Position

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. The position involves coordinating the business aspects of a department, including strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight, and financial operations. The role manages the daily administrative and business operations of a healthcare practice, overseeing two or more professional and support staff, including subordinate supervisors. The position typically has hire, fire, or promotion authority and evaluates and makes improvements to department processes while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations. The role requires managing initiatives, strategic priorities, and programs that impact the organization, working independently and in collaboration with leadership to support the budget process and meet key operational goals. The position plans, organizes, facilitates, monitors, and evaluates activities and functions of the department based on employee and organizational goals, collaborating with leaders to establish operating procedures, enhance clinical and non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within various delivery settings.
