About The Position

The Practice Lead II, Software Engineering (US) is accountable for building, maintaining and evolving the culture and community of Software Engineering Practitioners. The role oversees a team of Software Engineers and is responsible for coaching on knowledge, skills and performance, building and evolving the practice's capabilities, and advising practitioners on their work to ensure solutions are sound.

Requirements

  • University or Graduate / post graduate degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in field of specialization.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience using Java, RPA, Testing and API.
  • Strong People Management experience.
  • Project/ Program Management experience.
  • Hands on Process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required.
  • Acts as an expert or lead innovator and culture change agent for the practice amongst Business, Journey, and Platform leaders.
  • Builds and leads an engaged culture of Practitioners that inspires pride and meaningful work.
  • Is accountable for coaching the team of practitioners' knowledge, skills and performance, building and evolving the practice's capabilities, and advising practitioners on their work to ensure solutions are sound.
  • Focus is on the development of the Practice's talent, coaching and training their direct reporting Practitioners and contributes to the development strategies for the Practice's people.
  • Executes on Practice strategy as it relates to introducing tools, methodologies and processes across the enterprise.
  • Engages team with Platform and Journey leads to ensure 2-way feedback of Practitioners occurs.
  • Ensures team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall business management activities.
  • Monitors assigned functional area for productivity and efficiency, operating systems to continually improve delivery capability.
  • Contributes to the continuous enhancement of knowledge / expertise in own area and keeps current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices.
