About The Position

Velosio is seeking a high-energy dynamic and strategic Practice Director to lead our Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CRM) and Power Platform practice. This role is pivotal in driving growth, operational excellence, and client success across our Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform (including AI) offerings. A strong background in Field Service is a significant plus. As Practice Director, you will oversee a sizable team of consultants, architects, and managers, ensuring high-quality delivery, optimal resource utilization, practice profitability, and continuous innovation. You will work closely with the practice VP.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in business, MIS, Accounting or equivalent; advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of consulting, management, or related experience, including a technical leadership or technology role supervising technology professionals.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team, including a proven track record of mentoring, coaching, and developing talent in a consulting environment.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully growing a professional services practice within a consulting environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact successfully with C-level executives.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform (including Copilot AI); and is willing to be hands-on if needed.
  • Experience running a P&L.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Self-starter that is organized and has a team first mentality.
  • Experience with Field Service and Project Operations implementations and strategy is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful delivery of all professional services projects and effectively manage associated issues and risks to ensure on-time and on-budget implementation delivery that meets clients’ needs and requirements.
  • Continually plan professional services project delivery to achieve an optimal mixture of new business and services from existing clients.
  • Drive individual and team level utilization to consistently achieve a minimum of 75%, with no more than 5% write-offs/write-downs.
  • Manage monthly practice utilization forecast.
  • Maintain consistent and timely communication with professional services team members to keep abreast of resource commitments, client issues and concerns and intervene appropriately as needed.
  • Continuously coach and mentor consulting managers and all level of consultants within the professional services practice and take an active role to ensure adequate staffing levels and team member engagement.
  • Proactively partner with HR in professional services recruitment efforts and champion Velosio within the industry to create and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Proactively manage risk throughout all phases of implementation including client expectations, engagement complexity, quoted estimate, consultant skill level and/or any additional areas that could impact deliverables.
  • Promptly communicate, engage and act, as appropriate, to remedy client satisfaction issues that occur prior to, during and after an engagement, escalating as necessary.
  • Act as professional services team/product lead; provide insight, direction, guidance and mentorship on professional services topics.
  • Actively seek out additional business opportunities within and outside the Velosio customer base; form and maintain pipeline of professional services opportunities and track in CRM.
  • Partner with internal Business Development and Account Management teams to support professional services sales efforts to new and existing clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of all Velosio product offerings, including related ISV offerings.
  • Participate in industry and company events that involve client-contact as required.
  • Maintain a Velosio-wide perspective and clear understanding of how the professional services practice fits within the larger company initiatives and lead the practice accordingly.
