About The Position
The Practice Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and development of the urgent care center, ensuring a positive healthcare experience for patients. This role involves operational development, building patient volume, and networking with local medical practices and businesses. The manager will also be tasked with developing an occupational medicine program and supervising the administrative and clerical staff's operations and duties. The position requires work at both the East Northport and Wantagh locations, and it is classified as exempt from overtime compensation under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Key responsibilities include ensuring the office is open and appropriately staffed during scheduled hours and special events, maintaining operational safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment, and developing an onboarding process for new staff. The manager will interview, select, train, supervise, and evaluate site staff, as well as develop monthly staff schedules and assist with payroll calculations. Additionally, the manager will handle cash drawer balancing, daily bank deposits, and ensure staff are adequately trained to perform their jobs. The role also involves customer interaction, addressing service issues, identifying community marketing opportunities, and engaging staff in grassroots marketing efforts. The manager will inspect and maintain records on facilities and equipment, coordinate maintenance and vendor services, and perform front-end registration or medical assisting as needed. Establishing protocols for DOT physicals, drug testing, and other medical services is also part of the job, along with developing strategies to increase patient volume and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and certifications.
