The Practice Administrator I - Ambulatory will be responsible for managing daily operational efficiency, throughput, and coverage for assigned clinical areas by organizing work and work methods to ensure efficient use of staff time and equipment. This role involves collaboration with Human Resources, Department Administrators, and physician/nurse leaders to manage human resources effectively through efficient staffing, coaching and development of staff, and setting and maintaining high work standards. The administrator will also prepare and monitor department/program budgets together with physician/nurse leaders, ensuring alignment with operational and financial targets. In addition, the Practice Administrator will collaborate with Hospital Compliance and physician/nurse leaders to manage compliance with government regulations and third-party payer requirements. Acting as an administrative liaison between the department/program and hospital departments, the administrator will serve as the principal liaison to any other hospital on joint matters and shared programs, participating in hospital task forces and committees as appropriate. The role requires routine interaction with Program Chiefs, Hospital Department Administrators, Nursing leadership, and respective Program physicians/referring physicians and their offices. The administrator will also participate in the development and ongoing improvement of disease-specific clinical outcome metrics, directing and developing staff to identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery workflows and processes. Collaborating with Hospital personnel and Departmental faculty, the administrator will help plan and implement the strategic vision for the clinical components of the department's mission. This position is one of three Practice Administrator roles, distinguished by the complexity of business operations, research size, and the number and type of employees managed.
