About The Position

Grand Canyon University is a private Christian university located in Phoenix, Arizona. The College of Arts and Media offers exciting opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach part-time, face-to-face instruction at our Phoenix campus. GCU Traditional Campus located in Phoenix, AZ: Courses are in-person and on-campus for the Fall 2026 semester (Class start date 09/08/2026) Course: Practical Theory for Modern Musicians A hands-on introduction to essential music theory concepts such as scales, chords, rhythm, and form. Students apply these skills to popular music using tools like the Nashville Number System. The course includes ear training, analysis, and practical demonstrations. No prior theory experience is required.

Requirements

  • Master of Music in Music Theory, Composition, or a related area that includes coursework and professional experience in the area of commercial music and songwriting.
  • Experience using a variety of DAWs.
  • Minimum of 3 years of college level teaching experience.
