About The Position

The Practical Nursing Instructor position at St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) is dedicated to fostering a culturally responsive educational environment for nursing students. This role involves teaching a variety of nursing courses, mentoring students in both lab and clinical settings, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the curriculum. The instructor will engage in continuous improvement efforts to support student success and address equity gaps in education. This is an unlimited part-time position with a minimum guarantee of 24 credits per academic year, requiring on-site presence with classes typically scheduled Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree in a related field with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing if the graduate degree is not in Nursing.
  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
  • One year of work experience within the last five years, or two years of successful full-time postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a wide range of nursing courses across the curriculum.
  • Facilitate student learning through mentoring and engaging with students in both lab and clinical settings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and students to cultivate an inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environment.
  • Design and revise the nursing curriculum through an equity-minded, student-centered, antiracist lens.
  • Ensure course content and teaching resources are inclusive and designed to support students in the Practical Nursing program.
  • Engage in college committees and activities to promote a culturally responsive culture.
  • Provide holistic support to foster student success and lifelong learning engagement.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts utilizing assessment data to enhance accreditation efforts.
