About The Position

Orange-Ulster BOCES is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Part-Time Practical Nurse Curriculum Instructor to provide high-quality theory instruction to Practical Nurse students. This role supports student success by delivering engaging and current nursing content aligned with the Practical Nurse program's goals and best practices in the field.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) enrolled in MSN program required
• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Relevant clinical experience in nursing preferred
• Prior teaching or instructional experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum-based theory instruction to PN students in alignment with the established course calendar
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the Practical Nurse program curriculum and stay up-to-date with current nursing practices and trends
• Follow and adjust the monthly curriculum calendar as needed based on student progress
• Set clear instructional goals and effectively measure student learning outcomes
• Employ a variety of teaching resources and strategies that support program goals and student engagement
• Promote high expectations for student achievement through instructional design, interaction, and classroom environment
• Ensure students enter accurate clock hours for attendance
• Monitor and support student learning
• Accurately maintain student records in the Orange-Ulster BOCES LMS and the permanent record system (SchoolTool)
• Participate in team meetings and student governance meetings as scheduled
• Attend Orange-Ulster BOCES professional development and organizational activities as required for part-time staff
