About The Position

Riester seeks a communications professional with an affinity for writing, interested in public relations and social media for its Phoenix office.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Advertising, Marketing, Design, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• An affinity for social media writing and some design. (posts, blogs, video captions, photo captions etc.)
• A passion for media relations outreach: writing story pitches, news releases and the ability to generate original story angles on an on-going basis
• Under the supervision of an account executive or supervisor, experience conducting media outreach to regional and national news outlets, such as newspapers, magazines and broadcast outlets
• Strong written communication skills
• Able to learn or work in tools like Canva, MuckRack and Cision platforms
• Versed in Word and familiar with Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint
• Problem-solving; original-thinking; roll-up-your sleeves spirit with the ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple team members on specific projects and tasks
• Maintain and research news media lists
• Maintain and create news coverage summaries
• Write press materials
• Develop monthly press reports to include coverage, audience reach and publicity value
• Support local, regional and national news media outreach.
• On-going contribution to original story ideas and pitches.
• Support daily Client work
• Research various client-related needs, i.e. events, sponsorship opportunities, general background on topics
