About The Position

Kin is seeking a PR Manager to join our growing communications team. In this role, you will be a key player in shaping and executing our public relations strategy, helping to strengthen Kin's position as a leading innovator in the insurance industry. You will use your strategic storytelling skills and media relationships to drive impactful coverage that aligns with our business goals, with a focus on increasing brand visibility, building authority, and supporting our digital growth objectives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in media relations and public relations with a proven track record of securing media coverage.
  • Experience building and nurturing relationships with journalists and media contacts.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt your style for different audiences.
  • A strong understanding of how earned media impacts brand authority, GEO, and SEO.
  • Comfortable using data for storytelling and experience reporting on campaign performance.
  • The ability to handle and execute multiple projects on tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships with personal finance reporters at national and local news outlets.
  • Experience generating news based on data and data analysis.
  • Understanding of economics and its role in consumer behavior and insurance product pricing.
  • Experience building ideas that live across media relations, social, content and CX.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and pitching compelling media stories to a wide range of outlets, including consumer, business, tech, and trade publications.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers.
  • Developing and placing press releases, blog posts, and other content.
  • Working closely with internal teams to transform proprietary data and insights into newsworthy stories.
  • Monitoring news cycles and media trends to identify proactive and reactive media opportunities.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align PR efforts with business objectives.
  • Providing mentorship and support to junior team members.
