About The Position
This recruitment will be used to fill four part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Production Assistant: Stage Technician I position for the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx) at Oregon State University (OSU). Production Assistant: Stage Technician I will work many of the back of house positions at PRAx, and will help to train and guide other students, provide production support at on and off-campus events, and will be assigned where needed on any given day. Duties may include stage setup and strike, load-in, load-out, stage management, setting and operating lighting, sound, and/or video systems, organizing and maintaining equipment and spaces. The Production Assistant will be required to learn and follow safety policies and procedures of PRAx and may be asked to assist in training and supervising other students in those policies and procedures. The position requires a demonstrated high level of discretion and sense of appropriateness, ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor when working in stressful situations, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. PRAx employees are expected to use good judgement, to conduct themselves professionally while at work, to follow the guidelines for proper work attire, and to be punctual and reliable. This is a pooled posting. That means it will stay open for several months and we will pull applicants from the "pool" for interviews as openings occur, until the closing date, and possibly beyond.
