About The Position

We are a leading industrial mechanical, electrical, and civil construction services provider for the fossil and nuclear power, pulp and paper, chemical, mining, and general manufacturing industries. We provide a full range of industrial facilities maintenance and process maintenance services. MOR PPM Inc. is seeking Welder/Fabricators in Aiken, SC.

Requirements

2+ years experience welding/fabricating is required
Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings
Valid drivers license
Proficient in GTAW/GMAW/FCAW and acetylene welding
Basic set of hand tools is required
Ability to proficiently operate power tools used for metal fabrication
Ability to work at heights and manipulate tools in small spaces
Interpersonal skills such as oral, verbal and written communication and reasoning is required
May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
Must have full range of motion consistent with age
Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
Safety/Steel toe shoes are required

Nice To Haves

2 years industrial maintenance experience, preferred
Technical training preferred but not required
Pipe fitting experience preferred

Responsibilities

Read blueprints to craft and fabricate tire manufacturing equipment and components
Repair equipment as needed; replace faulty equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty equipment and components
Weld using mig, tig, or stick
Operate lifts and cranes to install equipment and components
