Powertrain Integration EngineerHyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Powertrain Integration Engineer at our Superior Township, MI facility. The Powertrain Matching Team is a part of the Vehicle Architecture and Powertrain Matching (VA&M) Department which focuses on the definition of critical powertrain requirements along with advanced concept development for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis products.WHAT YOU WILL DO Perform simulation-driven feasibility analysis (using GT-Suite, AVL Cruise M, MATLAB/Simulink, and Excel) to define vehicle and powertrain requirements for advanced concepts, including fuel economy, performance, and towing capability. Gather model inputs and validate requirements through structured collaboration with hardware design, controls, calibration, and program teams. Lead advanced powertrain technology development projects from concept to validation, managing scope, timelines, and technical deliverables. Lead competitive benchmarking of powertrain architectures, components, and performance metrics across key competitors, driving actionable insights for product positioning. Understand and follow the department’s business model, strategic direction, purpose, and mission. Work with the Manager and Senior Manager to participate in the department’s resource planning, goal setting, and technology roadmap creation. Foster cross-functional knowledge sharing through transparent communication and documentation. Produce executive-level reports on project milestones, simulation results, and benchmarking insights to guide strategic decisions. Up to 15% travel (domestic and international) WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLEBasic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field 6+ years of automotive engineering experience focused on powertrain development Experience using software, such as GT-Suite, AVL Cruise M, or MATLAB/Simulink with vehicle powertrain architecture simulation. Demonstrated foundational knowledge of electrified powertrain components, including electric motors, power conversion systems, high voltage batteries, engines, transmissions, charging electronics, and control systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to clearly explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical collaborators Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record
