Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of ICE, HEV and EV propulsion controls
  • Experience troubleshooting ICE, HEV and EV propulsion controls
  • Basic statistics knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of propulsion controls experience
  • CAN based tools experience – DET, PT Diag, CANalyzer
  • Programming experience
  • End of line testing experience
  • Software testing experience
  • Familiarity with IT plant infrastructure
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify propulsion system controls requiring offboard diagnostics in the assembly plant
  • Develop full vehicle propulsion system diagnostic testing strategy by vehicle program/plant
  • Work with systems, and software feature engineers develop test requirements
  • Design diagnostic test logic and requirement specifications using flow chart methodology
  • Work with software developers to validate tests before implementation
  • Analyze files logged during EOL testing using vehicle signals to troubleshoot and calibrate
  • Work with Vehicle Operations manufacturing teams to calibrate tests prior to launch
  • Perform vehicle level testing with manufacturing teams at Ford test facilities.
  • Provide on-site support at assembly plants for vehicle launches and new test implementations
  • Provide support for new control module software releases implemented in plants
  • Collaborate with functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve vehicle and EOL test issues
  • Support field issues that may require new EOL diagnostic software/calibration updates
  • Collaborate regularly with global EOL team on lessons learned/best practices
