This reliable, self-starting individual, as part of the operations team, will be responsible for assembling and testing Powers water control units and accessories, including, but not limited to pre-piped assemblies, manifolds, and mixing valves. This role will primarily support the new IS2 line. This position reports to the Orion/Radiant Value Stream Leader. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing of assembled parts.
  • Must be able to size and install wiring systems.
  • Must be able to identify specified parts to build the product.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and mechanical hand tools.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering and brazing equipment.
  • Assembles and tests valves and/or valve components using machinery or jigs and fixtures.
  • Utilize and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals, using tape measure and other measuring devices to ensure specifications are met.
  • Understand electrical systems, circuits and plans.
  • Prepare, assemble, and connect conduits and wiring.
  • Perform functional product tests, both electrical and pressure.
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to correct angle.
  • Package product.
  • Maintain quality and production records.
  • Participate in problem solving, training and Kaizen activities.
  • Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.
