About The Position

Nisga'a CIOPS provides hands-on experienced services to civilian and DoD programs worldwide. Delivering highly skilled, cleared personnel who provide services on five continents for a portfolio of customers. The Powered Support Systems Mechanic shall install, inspect, and perform modifications and repairs to electrical power support systems such as electrical power plants and power distribution equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience within the power-production industry.
  • Meet all Federal, State, and Local Government license/certification requirements.
  • US citizen
  • Must have a Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Repair components such as generators, voltage regulators, governors, starter motors, fuel pumps, fuel lines, and oil pumps.
  • Operate manual and remote switches, circuit breakers, rheostats, and other controls on a variety of automatic transfer switches, switchgears, and power distribution panels.
  • Adjust cycling and synchronization of generators to meet electrical load demand, energizing and de-energizing circuits to control distribution of electric power to busses and feeder circuits.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical power support systems, checking equipment for fuel, lubricants, coolant, and battery water levels.
  • Train and/or guide lower grade or lesser experienced employees as required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical power support systems such as electrical power plants and power distribution equipment.
  • Perform major repair, replacement, and overhaul of power support system components such as diesel, multi-fuel, or gas turbine engines.
  • Maintain records and documents actions; prepare accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of actions taken.
  • Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations.
  • Conduct periodic load-tests to ensure adequacy of system.
