Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a Powered Equipment Operator to join our Fabrication team in Auburn, Algona and Puyallup, Washington. Requirements

  • Computer Experience and Competency.
  • Experience working with standard measuring tools such as rulers, tape measures, scales, etc.
  • Experience using basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Experience operating powered mechanical equipment
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Successful candidates for this position must successfully complete the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of heavy-duty power machines, including power saws and hand routers, to bead, flare, flange, burr, upset, form, and expand tube and duct parts according to specifications.
  • Conduct hydrostatic and carbon dioxide chemical leak tests on tube and duct fittings and assemblies, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Skillfully hand-form, straighten, finish, and correct machine-formed parts that may be distorted from heat treatment or machining processes, while working with offsets, compound curvatures, and varying angles.
  • Perform a range of machining operations, including blanking, forming, cutting, trimming, and drilling, while carrying out finishing operations such as buffing, curing, and deburring.
  • Prepare parts and materials by stripping, degreasing, and etching through immersion in designated process tanks, and select appropriate dies and gauges for operations.
  • Inspect parts for usability and compliance with specifications, using checking fixtures and precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, coordination, preparation, and movement of materials and tools within your designated work area, utilizing electronic tracking systems and operating powered elevating equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by cleaning tools, reporting damaged equipment, and setting up safety guards and equipment.
  • Perform limited assembly and subassembly tasks as required, and execute rework and reforming of parts while ensuring all work meets established requirements.
