About the position

The Power, Utilities & Renewables Research Manager at Deloitte is responsible for leading research and analysis in the energy sector, focusing on power, utilities, and renewable energy. This role involves producing quantitative analyses and research papers that address critical industry issues, while also providing strategic insights to support the growth of Deloitte's Energy, Resources & Industrials (ER&I) practice. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver concise and impactful research that aligns with client needs and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research, writing, and analysis of industry issues in the power and utilities sector.
  • Produce quantitative analysis and research papers addressing key issues in the power and utilities and renewable energy industries.
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to craft effective insights and research.
  • Translate complex research findings into client perspectives and concerns through strong writing and editorial skills.
  • Utilize statistical methods and software for data modeling and analysis to inform research outputs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Engage in public speaking and stakeholder management to communicate research findings effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (BA or BS).
  • 8+ years of professional experience in the power and utilities or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools such as SPSS, STATA, R, or Tableau.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to relate industry trends to strategic business thinking.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in management consulting, public policy, government relations, think tanks, or academia.
  • Familiarity with key industry data sources and quantitative modeling methods.
