About The Position

Power Up Teachers create and implement an academic curriculum (focusing on math and language arts) for the Club’s Power Up Summer school program with an emphasis on combating summer learning loss.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University or in your third year of receiving an education degree preferred.
  • Experience working with youth grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.
  • Ability to work during the summer (June 15th – August 7th) from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday – Thursday.

Nice To Haves

  • Youth Supervisory Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and create a math and literacy curriculum with an emphasis on hands-on and fun activities.
  • Plan and lead engaging, educational, and grade-appropriate activities.
  • Implement and assess a post-test and pre-test in math and literacy skills (grade-specific).
  • Must be able to provide leadership, on-the-spot and reflective feedback, and supervision to youth.
  • Help encourage positive behaviors and provide guidance.
  • Provide daily feedback to the supervisor on how the day went and how programs and the space can improve.
  • Maintain order and discipline among students while upholding safety.
