About The Position

​​Role and Responsibilities​ Support verification of facility models, system parameters, relay settings, and operational data required for reliability assessments. Conduct analyses related to protection coordination, relay performance, generator behavior, and system stability. Support engineering documentation for NERC audits, internal reviews, and evidence retention processes. Participate in grid event analysis, equipment disturbance reviews, and reliability investigations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams Support engineering change management processes and participate in reviews of new equipment, upgrades, and interconnection projects. Assist with drafting engineering reports, technical summaries, and system diagrams. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for engineering workflows, data quality, and compliance readiness. Drive the development and use of advanced automation scripts and tools to effectively conduct reliability studies at-scale, and help build systems and tools to drive business efficiencies in this area. Apply engineering fundamentals to develop best practices addressing emerging reliability risks in datacenter operations and IBR integration, including system oscillations, protection and control, and advanced inverter technologies. Engage with clients to understand their specific needs, and communicate complex technical concepts in both verbal and written formats tailored to datacenter and IBR modeling contexts. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate data collection and reporting. Strong automation and programming skills such as using Python. Experience in real-time simulation is considered a plus. Support regulator communications and respond to compliance inquiries. Additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power System) or closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in power systems engineering
  • 4-6 years’ work experience in NERC Compliance
  • Strong background in generator modeling and dynamic performance validation.
  • Technical knowledge of power systems operations and NERC Reliability Standards
  • Additional knowledge of ERCOT, CAISO, and other ISO/RTO markets, State Public Utilities Commissions, and IA/PAA operational requirements
  • Fundamentals of Engineering EIT or PE Certification obtained or in progress.
  • Expertise in power system modeling
  • In-depth knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong automation and programming skills such as using Python.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering (Power System).
  • 4-6 years actively supporting a Generator Owner compliance program.
  • Experience supporting Generator Owner compliance programs.
  • Experience in real-time simulation is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy incentives or policies
