Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Two or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience using scripting and test automation tools.
  • Two or more years of experience working with SCADA Systems.
  • Two or more years of experience working with maintaining real-time power system applications such as: State Estimator, Real-time contingency analysis, Network Topology Processor.
  • Strong background in performing power flow analysis for electric utilities.
  • Excellent communication, ethics, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections and evaluations of existing conditions for various electrical equipment and systems for proper installation, problem identification/trouble shooting, and overall improvements.
  • Ensures system event assessments and RCA are performed for equipment failures and implements corrective actions, confirming proper mitigation plans are in place.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and design plans related to projects and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Conducts independent engineering work, receiving guidance on the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Performs power system modeling and analyses utilizing software tools and applications; stays informed of technology advancements, market trends, and relevant guidelines and standards related to energy technology.
  • Ensures the performance of day to day preventive maintenance activities to maintain equipment and ensure continued operation according to required standards including Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality and environmental and reliability standards.
  • Helps ensure infrastructures supporting processes are validated/qualified throughout their life cycle.
  • Develops the engineering facility design, including but not limited to electrical system design, such as sizing, creating one-line diagrams, and selecting equipment.
  • Assists in the development of new technology and standards strategy and the implementation of strategies into business operations to improve power system functionality and quality of service to customers.
  • Act as project sponsors with some technical assistance when responding to technical questions requiring project modification to move projects through their lifecycle.
