About The Position

The Power Systems Applications Engineer position requires a comprehensive understanding of utility GRID applications such as SCADA, OMS, DMS, EMS, and DERM. The role involves applying functional and technical knowledge to support the electric utility industry, focusing on applications related to outage management, distribution management, and energy management. Candidates should have hands-on experience with electrical data modeling and be familiar with implementing application configurations for various software systems. Proven software design and development skills are essential, along with database skills in SQL/PLSQL. Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) principles and methodologies such as Lean, Agile, and XP is also required.

Requirements

  • 8 - 19 years of experience in the electric utility industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • Knowledge of utility GRID applications.
  • Experience with database skills in SQL/PLSQL.
  • Understanding of software design and development.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to CIM and other model exchange formats.
  • Familiarity with software and product security practices.
  • Experience with scalability, documentation practices, refactoring, and testing techniques.
