About The Position

As a Summer Intern at Black & Veatch in Houston, Texas, you will help address some of the world's most pressing infrastructure challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects to meet our clients' needs and contribute to the growth and success of Black & Veatch.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Electrical Engineering program.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant coursework or knowledge in Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
  • Understanding of engineering design principles and design guides.
  • Problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and the ability to build relationships.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and documentation of protection setpoint calculations per industry standards, best practices, and client requirements.
  • Assist with the development of downloadable setpoint files on multiple proprietary relay manufacturer software platforms (SEL AcSELerator Quickset, GE Enervista, etc.).
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and schedule project deliverables.
  • Organize and evaluate data, utilizing computer modeling to analyze systems.
  • Organize project materials, references, and documentation.
