About The Position

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of remote work and in-office reporting), with the coordination and approval of the appropriate supervisor. The position is located in and will report out of Columbus, OH. Basic Functions: Assist in power supply resource portfolio planning, modeling and market analysis for Municipal Electric Systems.

Requirements

• A minimum of a four-year degree in engineering, business, economics, data analytics, mathematics or related fields.
• Strong written and oral communications skills required.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite products especially Excel, Power Point and Access.
• Must be a self-starter, customer focused and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must be highly accurate and detail oriented and have excellent project management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Must successfully complete FERC Standards of Conduct compliance training within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of electric power preferred, but not required.
• Understanding energy and commodity pricing concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains Excel spreadsheets and databases for planning, budgeting and load forecasting purposes.
• Assists in development of power resource portfolios for member Municipal Electric System communities.
• Analyzes and evaluates power supply options including power purchases and generation projects (including wind, solar, storage, diesel, natural gas and hydro).
• Provides analysis of natural gas and electric energy market for market purchases and sales strategies.
• Develops long and short term energy usage forecasts for Member Municipal Electric System communities.
• Prepares written documents and presentations for education, information and marketing of power supply projects and portfolios.
• Presents power supply positions and strategies to internal staff and Members.
• Develops and reviews electric power supply contracts with suppliers and Members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
