Job Summary The Lignite Planner, plans all corrective, preventive, and condition based maintenance jobs for the plant using PR-ISM, PMMS, and other EFH databases along with appropriate technical information. The Planner visits the job-site to determine the resources needed to complete the job in the safest, most efficient, and cost effective manner. Job Description Key Roles & Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will: Required understanding of the functional operation of the PR-ISM and PMMS Systems and proper implementation of the procedures. Directly evaluates the status of the running equipment in the assigned area on a daily basis and communicates with various other departments within the plant to verify potential problem areas. The Planner generates the appropriate actions either by creating work orders or by entering AR’s so the appropriate repairs can be planned and completed. This will also include interactive communications with the Scheduler. A Planner is directly responsible for creating work orders from AR’s; creating new standard job plans and revising existing standard job plans; building, maintaining, reviewing, and correcting the PM database; continually monitoring and correcting job estimates on repeatable jobs; closing schedules and review closed schedule comments to evaluate for any additional actions; build and modify bill of materials lists in the database; and generate reports as required and any other duties as set by the scheduler in order to support the area’s daily efforts Key Accountabilities Directly responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all manpower, equipment and materials in the assigned work areas with consideration given to safe working conditions, parts, workforce availability, scope and cost effectiveness Effectively interfaces with peers and other Luminant personnel to ensure consistent work practices and sharing of knowledge to optimize in performing mining activities. Participates in special projects and committee assignments as needed. Knowledge of fossil power plant equipment & operations, work processes, disassembly/reassembly techniques. Experience in interfacing with contract craft personnel and equipment manufacturer field representatives. Working knowledge of safety, health, and environmental requirements in fossil power plants. Communication Skills – Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines Education, experience & skill requirements Understanding of Preventative, Predictive, and Condition Based Maintenance Principles Experience in computer maintenance management systems Understanding of plant systems Interpersonal and organizational skills Computer skills using Word, Excel, Access and Outlook Leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills. Required understanding of the functional operation of the Maximo or selected system and proper implementation of the procedures. Three (3) years of Power plant or equivalent maintenance experience. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Key Metrics •Basic understanding of the O&M budget •Good understanding or the equipment functions, uses and capabilities •Good interpersonal skills above and below this position •Proven communication skills – written and verbal •Knowledgeable of OT scheduling

Requirements
