About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The job of Power Plant Operator was established for the purposes of providing maintenance services and overall operations with specific responsibility for ensuring completion of assigned work order projects and continued operation of the cogeneration plant; performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities (e. g. HVAC systems, alarms – Direct Digital Control, Emergency Generator Systems, Computer Monitoring Systems, Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Co-Generation plant, etc.) and any other duties as directed;

Requirements

• High School graduate or recognized equivalent plus formal trade/vocational school training or five (5) years related experience.
• Ability to use standard hand tools, machinery and equipment plus precision measuring tools.
• Basic to advanced knowledge of Direct Digital Control systems and PLC based Plant Control Systems, Steam Boilers and/or Cogeneration systems and operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints and to prepare material takeoffs.
• Basic to advanced code and regulatory knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of apprenticeship program preferred.
