The Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Maintenance and Recreation Services Division is looking for an experienced Grounds Keeper to operate and maintain passenger type power mowers as their main job duty, while continuing to care for and maintain grounds and landscaped areas in District II, which maintains and upkeeps City parks and recreation facilities from Kamehameha Field Recreation Center and Kalihi Valley District Park to Aiea Recreation Center. Other job duties include making minor repairs such as replacing sprinkler heads, performing minor building maintenance such as adjusting plumbing fixtures, and performing touch-up painting, which may include removing graffiti.Special Work Conditions: Work schedule is from 6:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., with varying days off depending on work needs. May be required to work weekends, nights and holidays based on operational needs. This position also serves as a Disaster Response Worker during declared emergencies.If you qualify for the position, your name will be placed on an eligible list for further consideration.
