About The Position

The position is responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks, and/or forklifts. The employee will inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment, as well as conduct safety inspections and prepare necessary safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and other regulations. The role involves interpreting work orders and technical manuals, repairing or replacing defective parts, and testing repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturer's specifications and regulations. Regular attendance is required, and the job may involve performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or equivalent background
  • Must be 17+ years of age
  • Minimum of one-year experience and/or completion of trade school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use hand tools and test equipment
  • Must have own tools
  • Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria
  • Specific knowledge of heavy truck repairs in a commercial environment, including diesel engine system diagnostics
  • Ability to keep up with changing technology and updates
  • Possess mechanical ability and interest in engines, electronics, and precision equipment
  • Strength and stamina to work with heavy equipment and in awkward positions
  • Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs.
  • Valid CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving on public roads
  • Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse if a CDL holder
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Self-starting and organized
  • Strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends in any weather condition
  • Ability to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
  • Ability to interact well with others
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting
  • Capability to work under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
