We seek passionate, creative individuals ready to make their mark in the engineering world. We have an opening for a Senior Project Engineer in the Generation Division. The candidate chosen for this role may be required to work in office (onsite), preferred to be local to the Houston, Texas, Oradell, New Jersey, Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Overland Park, Kansas or Boise, Idaho. Our efforts are purposeful, playing a vital role in advancing essential energy infrastructure. This infrastructure not only confronts the challenge of decarbonization but also ensures the provision of clean and reliable energy. We wield substantial activity and influence in the renewable industries, backed by a proven track record and demonstrated expertise across diverse projects and innovations spanning solar, wind, battery storage, geothermal, hydrogen, RNG, and carbon capture. While this massive transition in how we produce energy is underway, we also recognize the need to provide firming power solutions using cleaner gas-fired generation. We are dedicated to assisting clients such as independent power producers, municipal electric utilities, and investor-owned utilities in overcoming hurdles and implementing resilient power grid systems tailored for the future which also holds strategic significance for national security, particularly concerning military bases and defense systems. The ideal candidate possesses the drive to lead/tackle complex projects and has an insatiable curiosity about national/global energy markets and emerging technologies that aid our clients meet their energy and sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 15 years of Project Engineering experience in renewables, heavy industrial, and/or Generating Facilities
  • Experience in a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen production and applications, carbon capture, BESS, hydro, wind, solar, gas-fired, and/or coal
  • Subject matter proficiency is required in one or many of these areas
  • Capacity to effectively lead and oversee intricate projects
  • Experience managing a project team or a department
  • Experience filling the role of Project Engineer for several small/medium projects occurring concurrently
  • Possess a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to high-quality work and maintaining the professional reputation and client relationships that bring repeat business

Responsibilities

  • Managing large Generation Projects for multiple disciplines
  • Managing support services as the Project Engineer including scheduling, estimating, and procurement for multi-discipline projects
  • Assisting in developing the project proposal and budget
  • Managing all financial and technical aspects of performance for the project
  • Building and maintaining client relationships
  • Collaborating with our Business Development team and assisting business development efforts for multiple projects
  • Coordinating with production departments for projects, project staffing, and project processes
  • Occasional travel will be required
