About the position

As a Power Equipment Operator, you will be part of the essential processes that enable our store delivery, big ticket (furniture and bedding), and customer fulfillment warehouses deliver a customer centric supply chain and move product quickly to meet our customers' expectations. In this position you will operate material handling equipment (MHE) in our warehouse and fulfillment centers. You will be a critical part of our Supply Chain team where we drive success across the Supply Chain organization using a Four Pillars Strategy, each with a customer focus: Organizational Excellence, Building & Developing the Team, Financial Acumen, and Integrating with our Community. We are always building skills and working towards our goals tied to these pillars.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of power equipment to perform pick, pull, put away, and utility tasks that meet quality, accuracy, and productivity expectations.
  • Operate equipment at various heights up to 40 FT in the air with/without merchandise, on/off pallets.
  • Key accurately and productively using PCs, hand-held computers, Radio frequency equipment or other such devices and learn area-specific functions within multiple systems.
  • Safely perform job functions while navigating down narrow aisles and operating at a high elevation, up to 40 feet, wearing a safety harness while equipment is in motion.
  • Report all equipment failures, damages, and truck accidents as they occur.
  • Provide feedback to the safety committee on environmental issues affecting safe equipment operation.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members from all areas to achieve goals and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, sharing feedback, ideas, and concerns.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Requirements

  • No Education or Experience Required.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Self-starter in adapting quickly to changing customer expectations and needs.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology.
  • Comfortable with high elevations.
  • Willing & open to be cross trained in other areas of the facility, depending on volume.
