About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for a Power Engineering Internship with our R&D Protection Systems department in Pullman, WA. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. As a Power Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following: Providing Technical support to SEL staff & customers. Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies. Performing testing on new and existing technology. Documenting and communicating test results.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least two years of technical coursework completed.
• Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems.
• Experience with MATLAB or MathCAD programming and object-oriented/script files.
• Some experience with power system emulators and logic analyzers.
• Practical knowledge of SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

Benefits

• Intern pay range of $19.50 - $32.50 per hour based on role and year in school.
