Requirements

  • Current M.S./PhD student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with a hardware focus.
  • Direct hands-on lab experience with power electronics and embedded system control hardware.
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad), and operation of test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, network analyzers).
  • Understanding of ATS/STS switching systems, power multiplexing architectures, and real-time control logic.
  • Familiarity with IEEE standards (1547, 1588), UL safety listings, and data center electrical codes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and testing skills for mission-critical electrical systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data center infrastructure/operations and automated switching systems.
  • Knowledge of system commissioning, reliability testing, or control software for hardware interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Support hardware architecture design and system integration for advanced power and energy management platforms.
  • Develop, prototype, and test embedded control systems for real-time power distribution and reliability (including ATS/STS switching, multiplex power routing).
  • Conduct hands-on power system testing and validation, focusing on rack-level and hall-level equipment in laboratory settings.
  • Work with control hardware such as automatic transfer switches (ATS), static transfer switches (STS), and multiplexing devices to ensure robust electrical power control.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting, reliability assessments, and deployment support.
  • Document engineering workflows, testing procedures, and system findings.
