As a Power Electronics Intern at OmniOn Power, you will work with the R&D Engineering team supporting them on the product development and evaluation of technologies for AC/DC and DC/DC converters-based power supplies. This is an onsite role based in Plano, Texas. This position reports to: R&D Engineering Manager based in Plano, Texas

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong software design knowledge, especially for desktop applications
  • Solid programming skills in at least one of: C++, C#/.NET, or Python
  • Experience with a GUI framework (e.g., Qt, WPF, or similar)
  • Good understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and clean code practices
  • Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in embedded/industrial systems (e.g., TCP/IP, UART, CAN, Modbus, etc.)
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles for building intuitive user interfaces

  • Support prototypes development
  • Conduct laboratory tests following all required safety protocols
  • Model, design and test power converters
  • Present the technical results
