Effector Subsystems Products (ESP) is seeking a professional engineer to assume a key role within the System Power, Analog and Controls Department. This position is 100% onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with linear converters.
  • Experience designing low level electronics components.
  • Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
  • Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics.
  • Experience with software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout.
  • Experience with fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques.
  • Experience with commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes.
  • Experience with circuit simulators such as SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad.
  • Experience with military specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs.
  • Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
  • Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule.
  • Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff.
