As a Power Electronics Control Systems Engineer for JD Intelligent Solutions Group in Fargo, ND, you will: Develop power electronics controls solutions at both component and system levels for a broad range of applications Evaluate control design and component performance through analysis, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and/or lab testing Develop and maintain hardware in the loop (HIL) systems for closed loop verification of control features, power electronic components, software, and/or vehicle integrations VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position

Requirements

  • 1 or more years of experience with advanced power electronics or power electronics HIL systems
  • Experience with simulating power electronics and/or control systems
  • Experience with HIL testing
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Relevant research experience in academic institutes will be equally considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with power electronics, electric machines, and/or control algorithm development
  • Experience with advanced control systems and techniques such as observer, model predictive control, etc.
  • Experience with advanced digital signal processing schemes such as filter design
  • Experience with advanced research topics
  • Working knowledge of version control and Agile software development
  • Experience with CAN/J1939 and software scripting automation
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink
  • Experience with power electronics hardware or software design
  • Experience with OPAL-RT, National Instruments HIL systems, ECU-Test
  • Master’s degree or professional certificate in power electronics, control systems, or related area
