About The Position

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy. Diamond Foundry is seeking a Power Electronics Test Engineer to join our growing team. As a Power Electronic Test Engineer, you will be the technical owner for all high-voltage component and system-level testing, driving continuous improvement for both characterization and production. You will lead the design of test circuits, analyze data, and manage the development and maintenance of test programs and hardware. This role requires a hands-on approach and a problem-solving mindset, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate with multiple teams and customers. This position will work out of our San Jose location.

Requirements

  • BSEE/MSEE with 3+ years in test development, focusing on power electronics (MOSFETs, SiC, GaN), analog, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • High proficiency in bench automation (NI TestStand, LabVIEW, Python, or C) and EDA tools for schematics and PCB layout (Altium or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with high-voltage test systems (Eagles, Chroma, IPTest, FTI) and familiarity with parametric testers like Keysight 1506 or Keithley.
  • Strong skills in large data analysis, Pareto analysis, and Cpk test limit setup, with a comprehensive understanding of device/module datasheets; JMP experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with automotive-certified device standards (VDA, IATF, AECQ) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test circuits and software for bench characterization and automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Create and execute designed experiments (DOE), analyze data, and generate comprehensive reports.
  • Troubleshoot and solve engineering and production issues related to the device, test software, and hardware.
  • Perform yield and failure analysis for both engineering (DOE) and production, as well as document characterization results, test programs, test releases, and processes.
  • Document characterization result, test programs, test releases, and processes.
