About The Position

The Modesto Irrigation District is seeking a Power Contracts Specialist I/II to join the Resource Planning and Development Department within the Electric Resources Division. This role involves reviewing and developing power contracts, evaluating rate adjustments, and coordinating with various stakeholders including consultants and government agencies. The position is crucial for managing contracts related to electric generation resources and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also participate in regulatory proceedings and contribute to innovative resource programs.

Requirements

• One year of increasingly responsible analytical experience involving review and interpretation of regulatory/contract requirements.
• Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Electric utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the negotiation of new purchase power contracts and review drafts for consistency.
• Review regulatory and policy proceedings for their impact on the District.
• Coordinate with legal counsel on power contract reviews as necessary.
• Represent the District on committees and outside organizations.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and external agencies.
