Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in Power BI and SQL with business acumen to transform complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

Power BI Expertise: 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing advanced reports and dashboards, including proficiency with DAX, Power Query, data modeling, relationships, hierarchies, and deployment
SQL Proficiency: Strong ability to write complex queries, perform multi-table joins, and access data from various database platforms and APIs
Data Modeling: Proven experience designing star schemas, dimensional models, and optimized data structures for reporting
BI Tools: Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, Tibco, SSRS, SSIS, or similar tools
Database Technologies: Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, T-SQL, and database administration concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and data accuracy
Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Proven track record of gathering requirements and delivering solutions that meet business objectives
Experience with data storytelling and creating compelling visualizations that drive action
Advanced Excel skills including Macros, VBA, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, Data Validation, and complex logical functions
Experience with data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling techniques
Understanding of data security best practices and compliance requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
3–5 years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, or related IT roles
Portfolio of BI solutions demonstrating technical proficiency and business impact

Nice To Haves

Experience with AI-driven analytics and integrating predictive models into BI solutions
Familiarity with NetSuite, NextService (FSM), ServiceTrade, or similar enterprise systems
Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate for workflow automation
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and data platforms
Background in BI planning, architecture design, configuration, coding, and troubleshooting
Prior experience in specific industry domains relevant to our business

Responsibilities

Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI that enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions
Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable BI solutions
Partner with engineering team to build and maintain complex data models using star schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables optimized for performance and usability
Implement row-level security, drill-through capabilities, and advanced filtering to ensure appropriate data access and exploration
Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and integrate data from multiple databases, APIs, and data sources
Develop and maintain ETL processes using Power Query and other integration tools
Create and optimize data relationships, hierarchies, and calculated measures to support sophisticated analytics
Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting solutions
Develop sophisticated DAX calculations, measures, and time intelligence functions to support complex business logic
Apply data mining techniques and predictive modeling to uncover trends and forecast future outcomes
Leverage AI and machine learning capabilities to enhance analytical insights and automate decision support
Manage Power BI workspaces, including report publishing, app deployment, and scheduled data refreshes
Implement and maintain governance standards for BI content, security, and access controls
Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize report rendering and data refresh times
Document technical solutions, data lineage, and best practices for knowledge sharing
Partner with business leaders to understand analytical needs and deliver solutions that drive measurable outcomes
Present complex data findings through compelling data storytelling and visualization techniques
Provide training and support to end-users on report navigation and self-service analytics
Continuously gather feedback and iterate on solutions to maximize business value
