About The Position

The Power BI Developer at Spectraforce Technologies Inc. is responsible for creating interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that provide insights to drive key business decisions for internal clients. This role requires a senior-level developer to work independently under the Product Manager, transforming business requirements into technical specifications, data models, and visualizations while ensuring performance and security standards are met.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of overall development experience.
• 5+ years of Power BI development demonstrating advanced skills.
• 8+ years of SQL experience modeling data and writing complex queries.
• Extensive Power BI experience and exceptional data modeling and SQL skills.
• Experience with Bookmarks, Custom Visuals, and Field parameters in Power BI.
• Familiarity with GIT for version control.

Nice To Haves

• Object-Oriented Framework development experience.
• Experience with Miro.

Responsibilities

• Work independently under the Product Manager to deliver internal projects by turning requirements into data models, reports, and dashboards.
• Communicate with the product owner, following the development timeline and confidently testing work.
• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with the Product Manager to learn and apply data schemas, metrics, and visual standards.
• Collaborate with BAs and the Product Manager to derive technical requirements from business requirements.
• Create end-to-end dashboards including technical requirements, test cases, data modeling, SQL, and visualization in Power BI.
• Work with the data engineering and data architecture team to ensure data flows and availability.
• Design and implement interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI, following best practices and standards for development.
• Include drill-through, drill-down, and tool-tips for end-user interaction.
• Ensure reports meet performance benchmarks and configure appropriate refresh schedules.
• Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and conduct unit tests, working with QA/QC and supporting UAT.
• Document data models, report structures, and logic used in data product development.
• Participate in daily stand-ups.
