About The Position

As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and developing differentiated power conversion products focusing on Wide-Bandgap (WBG) Solutions, including Ac-Dc and Dc-Dc PWM controllers, discrete gate drivers for WBG transistors, and integrated WBG-based smart power stages. You will translate customer and market needs into innovative product specifications and collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to deliver solutions that maximize performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in power electronics including hardware design, product definition or Applications engineering, and customer support.
  • Experience in semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of power supply applications and/or motor control systems including power conversion topologies, control techniques, and magnetics design.
  • Hands-on experience with digital/analog controllers and drivers for power management and/or motor drive.
  • Proficiency using simulation tools such as SIMPLIS, Simulink, or SPICE to model and validate complex systems.
  • Proficiency with equipment and tools commonly used in a hardware engineering lab environment including oscilloscopes, power meters, waveform generators, network analyzers, etc.
  • Familiarity with customer product qualification including safety standards, EMI compliance, and thermal management
  • Familiarity with best practices for PCB layout of power applications
  • Ability to implement microcontroller or FPGA-based power supplies is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Define technical specifications for power conversion products and technology platforms by gathering insights from customers, market trends, and application requirements across AI data centers, servers, telecom, motor drive, renewable energy, high-performance computing, and automotive.
  • Contribute innovative concepts and ideas for product architecture and performance enhancements.
  • Use simulation tools and hardware emulation to validate product concepts, architectures, and control algorithms.
  • Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to ensure successful design and qualification of the defined product.
  • Perform product-to-system validation, including hardware design, system verification planning, and evaluation report generation.
  • Develop technical collateral including datasheets, application notes, evaluation boards, simulations models, and training material.
  • Collaborate with field support, marketing, and sales teams to provide training and assist with product promotion.
  • Engage directly with customers to resolve technical challenges and support successful design-in.
