As a Power and Performance Technician (PnP Technician), you will be responsible for setup/debug of pre-production silicon and board system setup for Intel's unlaunched notebook and desktop products. Your work will help enable PnP engineers to support product execution focused on measurements, analysis, and projections/estimates. This role is for Santa Clara on-site everyday (no remote/no hybrid option).

  • Setup of pre-production silicon and board and ensure correct operation
  • Based on a National Instruments DAQ (NIDAQ) config file, instrument the pre-production boards to enable power measurements
  • Install and setup of latest Windows OS environment and software on pre-production systems
  • Perform PCB re-works on pre-production boards
  • Measure and debug of performance workloads and benchmarks, such as SYSmark 25, SPEC CPU 2017, WebXPRT, Geekbench, Cinebench
  • Measure and debug of power workloads and benchmarks, such as idle, video playback, MobileMark 25
  • Call out any power and performance gaps vs expectations
  • Align with other internal engineering technicians/teams and to ensure correct setup
  • Coordinate with PnP Engineers on the team to understand the upcoming needs
  • Coordinate with PnP Engineers to order all necessary pre-production equipment
  • Maintain lab inventory of ordered items and in-house equipment
  • Associates Degree in Computers/Electronics or other related field of study OR 3-5 years of hands-on relevant experience
  • Experience in PCB soldering/re-works on SMT resistors and capacitors (sizes 0402/0201)
  • Familiarity in setup Windows OS systems from base image
  • Familiarity with debug board level and software issue
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel) and ability organization data is a must
  • Ability to read PCB layout and schematics is a plus
  • Knowledge of CPU micro-architecture (knowledge of x86 CPU micro-architecture) is a plus
  • Familiarity with ITP/JTAG scripts, board bring up, power measurements with DAQ is a plus
  • Prior experience on setup for National Instruments DAQ is a plus
  • Familiarity of standard performance benchmarks and ability to analyze performance is a plus
  • Familiarity with industry benchmarks is a plus (ie SYSmark, SPEC, WebXPRT, Cinebench, Geekbench, MobileMark, 3DMark, etc)
  • Prior experience with Intel products or other products in a post-silicon engineering environment is a plus
